Jared Wilber is a Senior Software Engineer at Nvidia and lecturer at UC San Diego. He previously started a company (via YCombinator) and worked as a Data Scientist for Amazon Web Services. His data visualization work includes open source projects (he is the author of roughViz.js and MLU-Explain) and narrative journalism (e.g. The Pudding). He is from San Diego.

Hey everyone! Iām Amirhossein Panahi (you can call me Amir), a second-year PhD student in Data Science at UCSD. Iām passionate about leveraging data to solve real-world problems, particularly interested in machine learning applications in healthcare. In my free time, I love swimming and hiking, exploring new trails, and enjoying the beautiful outdoors. Looking forward to working and collaborating with all of you!

Hi everyone! Iām Giorgia, a second year graduate student in HDSI. Iām originally from San Diego and loved it so much I had to come back for grad school! Outside of academics I spend most of my time cooking, hanging out with friends, and practicing yoga. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone in DSC 106!

Bruce is a ~2.5 year old (in human years) pug. He was rescued from The San Diego Pug Rescue when he was just a few months old. At work, he loves being pet and laying down. Outside of work, he loves eating food, cuddling with his mom, sleeping, and running around non-stop. He is extremely friendly and loving.
